EVENT – PRESENTATION INTERNATIONAL TAX FORUM -FIT | 2nd EDITION On October 20, 21 and 22, the 2nd edition of FIT – International Tax Forum will take place in São Paulo, an initiative of Fenafisco (National Federation of State and District Tax Authorities), ANFIP (National Association of Tax Auditors of the Federal Revenue of Brazil) and Sinafresp (São Paulo State Income Tax Agents Union). The hybrid event, which will be held in presencialy and online, aims to bring together experts in taxation and economics from around the world to address, in particular, the tax challenges of Latin American countries, in addition to addressing strategies to promote tax justice, combat tax evasion and tax avoidance in Latin America, with a focus on resuming development after the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to representing an opportunity for the exchange of international experiences, the 2nd edition of the FIT consolidates the partnership between Fenafisco, ANFIP, and Sinafresp in projects related to the fiscal category , fostering the debate on themes that challenge the tax routine, to improve defense and appreciation of the Tax Administration. The 1st edition of the FIT, held in 2018, brought together experts from four continents, who on the occasion addressed the European tax system and the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), in addition to the tax reality of Latin American countries . |

Hello, colleagues from the federal, state and municipal tax authorities from Brazil. I am pleased to invite you to participate in the International Tax Forum – FIT 2021, promoted in partnership between ANFIP and FENAFISCO. On that occasion, we will debate taxation as a factor for economic and social development and for reducing inequality, with a focus on the tax system in Latin America. The Covid-19 pandemic has given us the certainty that adequate taxation is necessary for dividend profits and great wealthies. In the certainty that we are contributing to the strengthening of the country, in the construction of a free, fair and solidary society, we count on your presence and participation. The event has the support of Oxfam Brasil and ISP, and will be held in October, in a hybrid format (presencial and virtual) and will feature the participation of renowned national and international experts.
The pandemic has deepened inequalities and clearly exposed how regressive taxation reinforces the inequities that are a common reality throughout Latin America.
Properly taxing the super-rich and the extraordinary profits of large corporations is no longer just a measure of fiscal justice and economic efficiency and has become a civilizing imperative.
